Pakistan's federal investigative agency seizes two cryptocurrency mines

Pakistan ’s Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) recently seized two cryptocurrency mines in the Shanla district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Two men were arrested by security forces as Pakistan banned possession and trading of cryptocurrencies. Investigators said the mines were set up illegally and called them the country's largest cryptocurrency mine. Officials also said the mine is trading Bitcoin, Ethereum and other digital currencies overseas. Officials revealed that the mine had about 65 equipment installed and a total of 780 channels operating at the mine. Muhammad Rizwan, assistant director of crime for the federal investigation agency in Pakistan, said that earlier in December 2018, eight "Bitcoin miners" worth Rs 2 million were also seized.
