LinkedIn co-founder: Women still risk being excluded in fast-growing professions such as blockchain

At the World Economic Forum annual meeting in Davos on January 24, LinkedIn co-founder Allen Blue raised concerns about professional inequality in industries such as blockchain. Blue warns that women are still at risk of being excluded in fast-growing professions such as blockchain and artificial intelligence (AI). Blue urges the global community to take steps to prevent future employment gaps from widening. Blue believes that the reason for the inequality is that women do not have the same access as men to the networks needed to acquire these roles. He added that if this trend continues, the global community will face more risks of gender discrimination in the workplace in the next 5 to 10 years. The World Economic Forum estimates that it will take women 257 years to obtain the same economic opportunities as men. In contrast, women have so far accounted for only 30% of technology-related jobs, such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, software engineering, and cloud computing.
