British court orders Bitfinex to freeze $ 860,000 worth of Bitcoin ransomware

After a cryptocurrency exchange and blockchain investigation company Chainalysis tracked the funds transfer address of the ransomware, a British court has ordered Bitfinex to freeze $ 860,000 worth of Bitcoin. According to a New Money Review report, the victims of extortion have paid the perpetrators 109.25 BTC (about $ 950,000), some of which have been converted to fiat currency and cannot be tracked, and the remaining 96 BTC ($ 860,000) was sent to Bitfinex's platform address. "New Money Review" said the ruling marked the first time the British High Court recognized Bitcoin as property.
