Trezor responds: Attacker can tamper with user device, but must open physical enclosure to access device microchip

According to Coingape, in response to the Kraken security research team finding a way to hack Trezor's Bitcoin hardware wallet, Trezor responded that the attacker could indeed tamper with the user's device. They further stated that this would be visible because the attacker would have to open the physical case to access the device's STM32 microchip. Trezor recommends that users keep Bitcoin hardware wallets away from strangers and activate the wallet's passphrase function to avoid such attacks.
