Mastercard CEO: Libra seems hesitant about KYC and anti-money laundering

Mastercard CEO Ajay Banga recently spoke about leaving the Libra Association in an interview with the Financial Times. Banga said that the main members of the Libra Association would not commit to "doing nothing that does not fully comply with local law." Talking about the reasons for the withdrawal, Banga said that Mastercard must conduct due diligence through KYC, anti-money laundering and data management, but Libra seemed hesitant in these areas. Banga explained: "Every time I talk to Libra's main supporters, I ask if I can write these down. But they don't." In addition, Banga also questioned Libra's profit media.
