Maastricht University has paid Bitcoin ransom worth 200,000 euros to hackers

According to Reuters, the University of Maastricht said on Wednesday that the school had paid ransoms of 30 bitcoins (then valued at 200,000 euros) to hackers after a continuous attack, in order to Unblock the computer system under attack. Cyber-security company Fox-IT identified the hacker as TA505, a Russian-speaking criminal group, after helping universities recover and analyze the situation.
