Security personnel finds zombie mining program on a web server operated by the U.S. Department of Defense

Last month, Indian security researcher Nitesh Surana submitted a vulnerability report on the U.S. Department of Defense's vulnerability bounty page. Surana said it found a zombie mining program on a web server operated by the Department of Defense. It is reported that the main impact of the vulnerability is that attackers can run remote commands on the server through Java to upload any files they need. It seems that some criminals did use this vulnerability to install a zombie program to mine Monero, but it is not clear how much profit has been made. After Surana issued evidence in support of its claim, the Department of Defense quickly took control of the system and shut it down.
