IRS refuses to clarify that some of its crypto guidelines are not binding or authoritative

According to CoinDesk, the U.S. Congressional Oversight Agency, the Government Accountability Office (GAO), released a report assessing the current IRS guidance and public guidance strategies around cryptocurrencies. The GAO provided some advice to the IRS, one of which was that the IRS should clarify that some of its latest guidelines are not binding or authoritative. But the IRS has rejected the proposal.
