Energy company Acciona partners with Spanish startups to sell carbon offsets on blockchain platforms

Spanish renewable energy company Acciona SA (BME: ANA) has agreed to work with Valencia-based Climate Blockchain Initiative (CBI) to support the global expansion of the startup's carbon credit trading platform. Developers claim that the platform uses blockchain technology to make commercial transactions between carbon offset suppliers and buyers easier, faster and less expensive. Note: Carbon offset (also known as carbon neutrality) refers to the total amount of greenhouse gas emissions directly or indirectly measured by a company, group, or individual within a certain period of time, and offsets the carbon dioxide generated by itself through afforestation, energy conservation and emission reduction Emissions to achieve "zero emissions" of carbon dioxide.
