Dutch central bank official: DLT technology is not required to complete central bank digital currency

According to foreign media today, Harro Boven, policy consultant of the Payment Policy Department of the Dutch Central Bank, said that the essence of the DLT infrastructure is that neither party should be trusted enough, but if the central bank issues digital currency, it only trusts the central bank to maintain the global ledger Integrity. Scott Hendry, Senior Special Director of Fintech at Bank of Canada, also said that DLT can be used to make central bank digital currencies. If the DLT system and the current efficient centralized system are only viewed for the purpose of inter-bank payment, the DLT system does not seem to have many benefits.
