Security company: Malware Shellbot has new variants to mine cryptocurrency

According to TechCrunch, security company Threat Stack recently discovered that Shellbot malware has new variants that can spread over the network and shut down other encryption software on infected computers, allowing malware to release more processing power for its own Encryption operation. The study said that the main goal of the operation seems to be to obtain monetary gain through encryption and dissemination to other systems on the Internet. Earlier, US network security company JASK published a research report on February 5th that malware hijacked large enterprise devices to mine Monroe and target Linux users.
