BM (Daniel Larimer) tweeted: "A quick review of the STEEM blockchain code will reveal that they are still implemented using the chainbase I wrote, and it is unclear whether rocks db can be accessed anywhere as part of the consensus node. Claims It's dishonest for eosio to copy STEEM. Although many other blockchain stacks use rock db to improve performance, rock db is still much slower than chainbase. This is why eosio is the first to enable contract developers to size / Speed / latency trade-off of the blockchain stack. Imagine what would happen if your operating system did not allow application developers to control where data is stored? Caching systems can never meet developer vision. "
