According to Bitcoin.com, a study published by data provider Statista compiled quarterly data for three years. The data shows that the number of global blockchain wallet users has jumped from less than 6.7 million in the first quarter of 2016 to 34.6 million in the first quarter of 2019. This includes a continuous increase, with more cryptocurrency wallets each quarter than in the previous quarter. A detailed chart of Blockchain.com confirms this trend. There have been two distinct peaks throughout the period from the beginning of 2013. The first time occurred between late November 2017 and the end of January 2018, when the number of wallets increased by 2.5 million. The second time since April this year, there have been nearly 2 million new users since the beginning of April.
