Data: ETH / BTC's volatility spreads continue to increase during drastic market changes

Skew's chart data shows that ETH / BTC's six-month volatility spread has increased. This shows that in this round of price adjustments in the crypto market, Ethereum is more volatile than Bitcoin.

On March 9th, ETH / BTC's volatility spread rose to 21% in six months, reaching a new high. In addition, the 3-month and 1-month actual volatility spreads also rose to 30% and 50%, respectively. This may be due to the increasing activity in the derivatives and spot markets. Interestingly, on March 9th, the total transaction volume of ETH on the two exchanges Coinbase and LMAX Digital surged to US $ 130 million. The last time the spot trading volume of the two exchanges reached this level was June 27, 2019, when the number was close to $ 152 million. On the other hand, Ethereum's options trading did not show any significant figures, and Deribit only traded $ 4.6 million on March 9. Total futures volume hit a record high. On March 9, the total daily trading volume of Ethereum futures reached $ 5.6 billion.
