CMC Markets: Restricted by European regulators on digital currency CFDs, CFD revenue is expected to fall 37% in FY 2019

According to FinanceMagnates, online trading economist CMC Markets (providing cryptocurrency CFDs) released a trading data update on the overall results of the fiscal year on Wednesday, prior to the release of its full year of FY 2019. During this period, the company's overall financial performance was severely affected by the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) intervention implemented on August 1 last year. These regulatory measures have reduced customer trading activity, and the tough market environment in the fourth quarter of 2018 has led the company to expect its spread contract (CFD) revenue to be around £110 million in FY 2019. The previous year fell by 37%.
