Ethereum 2.0 completes preliminary audit: protocol specifications are good overall, only fine-tuning required

Auditor Least Authority has completed a preliminary audit of Ethereum 2.0. It is reported that the upgrade plan for Ethereum will start in July 2020. Least Authority concluded that the protocol specifications are well structured and have strong security measures in place. But they suggested further reviewing the block proposer mechanism and the P2P network, as both were found to have attack vectors. Recommendations to mitigate these dangers are still in the active research stage, which means that there is almost no clear body of knowledge to draw on. Ethereum 2.0's research and implementation team has acknowledged these shortcomings.
