GitHub hacked: stealing hundreds of source code and extorting bitcoin

According to foreign media reports, a hacker recently invaded GitHub's 392 code repositories, removed all source code and recently submitted content, and left a ransom note supporting 0.1 bitcoin (about RMB 3,838). The hacker claimed that all source code has been downloaded and backed up on one of their servers, and if the victim did not pay the ransom within ten days, they would disclose the code. According to the search data on GitHub, a total of 392 users were attacked. In response, GitHub responded in a statement: "We are currently in contact with affected users to protect and recover their accounts."
