Shanghai court initiated trial record reform, exploring for the first time data storage technologies such as blockchain

On the afternoon of March 30, the Shanghai Higher People's Court held a meeting through video to start trial trial record reform. It is reported that the pilot will run from April 1, 2020, for a period of six months. Ten courts including Shanghai First Intermediate Court, Second Intermediate Court, Third Intermediate Court, Financial Court, Xuhui Court and Fengxian Court were the first batch of pilots. It is reported that this reform also explores for the first time data storage technologies such as blockchain and time stacking, and uses court hearing system and court hearing phonetic conversion system to automatically store relevant court trial processes and evidence, and automatically generates a "trial audio recording video file metadata record form". After being signed by the relevant lawsuit participants, it will be put on file.
