GitHub plans to store large amounts of open source code in film in Norwegian iceberg mines

According to CoinDesk, GitHub will store a large amount of open source code in underground coal mines in the Norwegian Iceberg, including Bitcoin's underlying infrastructure code. These codes will be copied onto film reels and stored in steel containers for 1,000 years to ensure history. Bitcoin's chief maintainer, Vladimir Vanderland, believes that electronic records may be lost in the future, and keeping open source code on hardware can avoid loopholes in the history of digital currency. A GitHub spokesperson said that the team is currently preparing the data and plans to officially enter the mountain in late April.
