Microsoft Bing banned 5 million ads related to cryptocurrency last year

According to research firm Messari, according to data published in the Bing Advertising Quality Assessment, 5 million of the 900 million ads blocked by Microsoft's online search engine Bing in 2018 are related to cryptocurrencies. Lack of regulatory oversight and the anonymity of cryptocurrencies led Bing to ban encrypted advertising like Facebook, Google and Twitter in May last year. While other platforms have removed or simplified the cryptocurrency from the blacklist, Bing has not shown signs of lifting the ban.
