American Association for the Advancement of Science: Internet voting including blockchain is still unsafe

According to Cointelegraph, the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) sent letters to state governors, secretary of state, and election directors on April 9 to urge officials not to use Internet voting in elections. According to AAAS, Internet voting is currently not a secure voting solution in the United States, nor will it be in the foreseeable future. The association also cited a research report on election security published in 2018. The report believes that online voting, especially the use of blockchain technology, may lead to privacy violations, vote manipulation and incomplete ballot counts.
