Overstock subsidiary will establish a blockchain land registry for Carben County, Wyoming, USA

According to CoinDesk, Medici Land Governance (MLG), a subsidiary of Overstock's venture capital company Medici Ventures, has signed an agreement to establish a blockchain-based land registry for Carben County, Wyoming, United States. According to the agreement, MLG's record platform will allow the storage of mortgages, guarantee contracts and ownership, as well as the source of land ownership in this small county with a population of less than 15,000. The blockchain system will also capture and record necessary updates to land management transactions. It is reported that this is MLG's second initiative in Wyoming. The company signed a similar agreement with Teton County at the end of 2018. The company said that keeping such records on the blockchain can make land ownership more transparent, secure and verifiable.
