Foreign media: Facebook will launch cryptocurrency GlobalCoin in 2020

Facebook plans to set up a digital payment system in more than a dozen countries around the world by the first quarter of 2020, and plans to begin testing its cryptocurrency by the end of the year, which is known internally as GlobalCoin. Facebook founder Zuckerberg met with Bank of England Governor Mark Carney last month to discuss the opportunities and risks of launching cryptocurrencies and even to seek advice from US Treasury officials on operational and regulatory issues. In order to find a cheaper and faster way, Facebook is still negotiating with remittance companies including Western Union, allowing users without bank accounts to send and receive money.
