Russian Supreme Court of Arbitration judge urges digital currency to be incorporated into civil law

According to Cointelegraph, on June 4, according to Russian media reports, a judge of the Russian Supreme Court of Arbitration held that the term "digital assets" should be included in Russian civil law. Lyudmila Novoselova, President of the Intellectual Property Court of the Russian Federation and Judge of the Supreme Court of Arbitration, introduced the agency’s plan to enact legislation on digital rights. Novoselova expressed the belief that the Russian Civil Code should include the concept of digital currency, and she pointed out that the basic aspects of the industry are not yet known. The judge explained that the objects related to the digital asset field need to be supervised because the overall legitimacy of the tax system and related businesses remains ambiguous. The official also announced that Russian legislators should follow the logic of regulatory risk management rather than prohibition when implementing legislation on the digital asset industry.
