Brazil's central bank launches interbank ID blockchain platform

According to Cointelegraph, the Central Bank of Brazil officially launched the inter-bank ID blockchain platform by working with IBM to use Hyperledger Fabric. An identity solution called "Device ID" will be attended by nine banks and integrated into the Brazilian domestic clearing system, the Brazilian Payment System (SPB). Its purpose is to use mobile devices to verify digital signatures against financial crimes and unauthorized use of the financial system. The platform has been exposed at the development stage, and Bradesco, Brazil's largest bank, confirmed that the platform will be officially launched during the CIAB Febraban meeting this week. According to reports yesterday, Bradesco Vice President Mauricio Minas revealed that a number of major local banks in Brazil will launch a unique blockchain platform on June 12.
