Rhode Island, USA considers using blockchain to improve state government operations

According to CoinDesk, recently, Rhode Island issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) to explore the feasibility of blockchain technology to improve the state's operations. The memorandum in the request for proposals mentions that blockchain technology applications include anti-fraud, contracts, medical marijuana, records, notarization, registration and licensing, and investigation evidence control. Liz Tanner, head of business supervision, said in a statement that the blockchain represents the modernization of the government and will increase the efficiency of the government.
