According to a recent statistics released by ARKinvest encryption analyst Yassine Elmandjra, the average lifetime of cryptocurrency exchanges is only 18 months, because a considerable number of them are victims of password hacking, mismanagement and bitcoin theft. It is estimated that about 50 exchanges have been closed so far, the most notable of which are Cryptopia and Mt. Gox. Since the beginning of 2019, eight cryptocurrency exchanges have been closed. Whenever an exchange is closed or a hacker attacks, the overall security of these encrypted asset exchanges is threatened by multiple issues. It obviously also affects the price of Bitcoin, just as it did in the past when Mt. Gox collapsed.
