Members of the European Parliament: Facebook or become a "shadow bank", the regulator should be highly vigilant

French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire and German European Parliament member Markus Ferber have called for a regulatory review of Facebook's blockchain project. Ferber warned that Facebook, with more than 2 billion users, could become a "shadow bank," and regulators should be wary. He said that when launching virtual currency, multinational companies like Facebook should not be allowed to operate in “regulatory paradise”. The French finance minister said that Libra could not be a sovereign currency.
