Indian telecommunications regulators are considering using blockchain technology in more areas

According to The Economic Times, Indian telecom regulators are considering using blockchain technology in more areas, such as the portability of mobile numbers. Previously, blockchain technology has been successfully used to check for unsolicited commercial communications (UCC) or harassment messages and calls. RS Sharma, chairman of the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRAI), praised the work of Indian operator Vodafone Idea, who used an open source platform to build a system to screen unwanted calls and messages through blockchain technology. Sharma said: "We have applied blockchain technology to the UCC field, which is the world's first, and we will apply it to other areas after the trial."
