The head of the Facebook blockchain denied reports that banks such as Goldman Sachs refused to join the Libra Association

According to CNBC, David Marcus, head of the Facebook blockchain project, said that a managing director with experience in both the government and the central bank would be a great leader of the Libra Association. Marcus told The Information on Friday, “We need someone who knows how the economy works, and he knows how to operate in a very complex, decentralized governance environment.” Marcus also denied the New York Times report on Tuesday. The report said banks such as Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan Chase rejected Facebook’s invitation to join the Libra Association. Marcus said: "I want to firmly deny this statement, we are still talking to the bank. My expectation is that some banks will become one of them when the project starts next year."
