Dr. Harry Yang, former Chief Research Scientist for AI at Facebook, has created Kya, a new platform for AI Personalized Avatars, aimed at completely disrupting the field of AI Digital Humans.

During his time at Facebook, Harry Yang closely collaborated with another AI leader and colleague, Srinivas Narayanan. Now, both have left Meta. Srinivas joined OpenAI as an Engineering Vice President, while Harry Yang left to create Kya as the next evolution of Character.ai, the AI Digital Human 2.0.

Currently, OpenAI’s ChatGPT is undoubtedly a leader in the industry, with over a hundred million users. However, ChatGPT’s AI assistant technology does not have personalized options.

This is where Character.ai comes in, a personalized platform that has attracted over four million active users in just six months. After a recent $150 million investment round led by Andreesen Horowitz (A16Z), some of Character.ai’s characters, such as Super Mario, already have tens of millions of message sends.

According to a PYMNTS report, Character.ai’s valuation has now reached $5 to $10 billion, a significant increase from $1.4 billion in April.

On the Kya platform, when conversing with characters from the famous American animated television show “The Simpsons,” you will find that this character remembers many detailed scenes from their life, including trivial things that the same character on Character.ai does not have. This character on the Kya platform responds with actual interesting anecdotes, expected slang, and punctuation.

In the Kya team, Harry Yang now leads some of the world’s top adversarial training researchers from Harvard, Cambridge, and MILA. Harry Yang states that the Kya team consists of senior doctors with decades of combined experience in AI research.

Dr. Harry Yang explains that Kya’s digital characters are designed to behave and act like real humans. He further mentions that Kya’s test users on average spend over an hour chatting with Kya’s digital characters every day.

Kya’s advanced AI Digital Human technology will have a wide range of Web3 applications. Kya will not only support Web3 projects within the platform but also leverage Web3 technology to help AI Digital Human creators monetize and provide infrastructure for the creator economy in the AI era.

About how Kya empowers Web3 with AI technology:

Kya is permanently preserving digital lives on the blockchain, creating unique 1-to-1 personalities that you can chat with and monetize. Each Kya character possesses features that Character.ai and ChatGPT do not have. Kya’s AI Digital Human characters have complex and evolving personalities, long-term memory, the ability to perform complex tasks, and even engage in proactive conversations with you. You can interact with them on any text platform, not just the Kya website. Additionally, they come with a digital certificate that carries their unique DNA.

Kya is still a platform where you can create and monetize your own characters, and even clone your own private characters and those authorized by you.

About Kya’s Mission:

The Kya team is committed to preserving, decoding, and replicating the learning basis in the biological neural system, and applying it to artificial intelligence networks with the same psychological functions as humans. At Kya, the team is permanently preserving and transforming human life into digital life on the blockchain.

About Dr. Harry Yang:

At Facebook, Harry Yang created a groundbreaking “video production” platform that allows Facebook users to generate videos from text. He led a major computer vision reform at the company and is dedicated to large-scale language models at Facebook. Harry Yang holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Southern California and is an expert in adversarial learning, natural language processing, and large-scale language models.

Harry Yang has received thousands of citations for his cutting-edge AI research in areas such as large-scale language models, adversarial training, and computer vision, as well as several important contributions to IEEE and CVPR.

Today, Kya has opened its whitelist on its official website, providing the first opportunity to interact with the Kya team.
