Immutable to Eliminate Gas Fees for Gamers with Zero-Knowledge Proof Scaling Platform
Immutable's zkEVM to Revolutionize Gaming Gas Fees with Web3 EliminationImmutable’s zkEVM eliminates gas fees for Web3 gaming.
Are you tired of paying those pesky gas fees every time you play a Web3 game? Well, worry no more! Web3 gaming firm Immutable is about to change the game (pun intended) with its revolutionary zero-knowledge proof-based scaling platform, set to go live in early 2024.
Let’s face it, transaction fees have always been the bane of gamers’ existence. But with Immutable zkEVM, blockchain-based game developers can bid farewell to transaction fees and offer gamers a “frictionless onboarding” experience like never before.
Before the advent of layer-2 scaling protocols, Ethereum-based decentralized applications (DApps) and services relied heavily on network validators and miners to process smart contract operations and transactions. And let’s just say, gamers weren’t too thrilled about shelling out their hard-earned digital assets for those gas fees.
But fear not, my fellow gamers! Immutable CTO Alex Connolly has heard our cries of frustration. In a statement shared with Cointelegraph, Connolly emphasized the importance of offering players a “familiar and streamlined user experience” in Web3 games, where gas fees become a thing of the past.

With Immutable’s zkEVM, game developers will have the power to sponsor gas fee payments, effectively eliminating these transactions for Immutable Passport users. And that’s not all. During its mainnet launch, Immutable plans to go all out and sponsor gas fees for all of its ecosystem games for a limited time frame. Talk about a gaming revolution!
But how much are these gas fees actually costing game studios? Well, according to Connolly, for every 100,000 users in their gaming environments, studios can expect to pay anywhere between $500 and $1000 in gas fees. That’s no small change, my friends. However, with the introduction of gas sponsorship, player adoption is bound to skyrocket, leading to increased revenues for game studios. And who knows, maybe gas fees will become a standard expense, just like infrastructure or server costs.
The benefits of Immutable’s zkEVM don’t end there. Game developers will also gain access to lower development costs, while enjoying the security and network effects that come with the Ethereum ecosystem. It’s a win-win situation.
And it seems like the gaming industry is already on board with this groundbreaking technology. Over 20 gaming studios, including big names like GameStop, TokenTrove marketplace, Kongregate, and iLogos, have pledged their support for the beta launch. The future of gaming is looking brighter than ever!
So, fellow gamers, mark your calendars for early 2024. Get ready to game like never before, with zero gas fees and a seamless user experience. The revolution is coming, and you don’t want to miss it!
Are you as excited about this gaming revolution as we are? Share your thoughts and let us know how you think zero gas fees will change the gaming landscape. And remember, the future of gaming is here, so get ready to level up!
