Why do they say OpenAI has killed developers?

Why is OpenAI accused of hurting developers?
  1. November 6th, San Francisco, OpenAI’s first developer conference, an anticipated “landmark” annual technology carnival in Silicon Valley and even globally. However, developers are afraid when giants hold “developer conferences”. Whether each action they take gives developers more opportunities and a way out, or “kills” developers and blocks their path, has always been a question.

  2. Famous “developer conferences” in the era of personal computers include Intel’s IDF and Apple’s Macworld. In the mobile internet era, Apple’s WWDC replaced Macworld, and Google’s I/O supported another ecosystem. As the human information technology civilization inevitably enters the era driven by artificial intelligence, it’s now OpenAI’s turn.

  3. Indeed, without smartphones, there would be no food delivery and ride-hailing services in local life. In that case, Uber and Didi should be even more grateful to Jobs. Today’s headlines and TikTok are clearly the beneficiaries of Apple and Google, and they are also “developers”. However, Apple and Google, especially Apple, have indeed killed a large number of developers, such as those involved in weather forecasting, document editing and storage, online translation, sports health, and even intelligent voice assistants. In short, while whales arrive, all things come to life.
