From October 22nd to 24th, the first-ever “ETH Hong Kong 2023” event, jointly organized by the Ethereum native zkEVM scaling solution Scroll and Web3 technology venture capital company Newman Group, was successfully held at Cyberport. LianGuaiNews, ABCDE, and 852Web3 were among the organizing committee. The event attracted more than 2,500 participants over the course of three days, with over half of them coming from international locations, making it a highly influential event for the development of the Web3 community.

The event featured over 120 renowned speakers, including Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin, Ethereum Foundation researcher Justin Drake, Cyberport Investments Network (CIN) Advisory Group Chairman Hendrick Sin, Hong Kong Legislative Council member Charles Mok, Hong Kong’s Invest Hong Kong FinTech Head, King Leung, and Scroll co-founder Sandy Peng. They shared their profound insights on hot topics such as Web3, regulations, Layer2, and ZK (Zero-Knowledge Proof).

Furthermore, the innovation hackathon co-hosted by Scroll, the Ethereum native zkEVM scaling solution, and BeWater attracted around 250 hackers who submitted 84 creative projects. The top three winners in the on-chain innovation category were RingSig, Lazyotter, and Communities ID, while the top three winners in the student innovation category were Kaviar, Competition Protocol, and Verimint. This not only showcased the enhanced creativity within the community but also strengthened the commitment to building a Web3 developer community, providing a platform for nurturing future innovations.

In addition, this edition of the event also saw active participation from Scroll, Tencent Cloud, DODO, Accseal, and 20 other groundbreaking Web3 projects, creating a collaborative and dynamic space with immense potential.
