In the field of cryptocurrency assets, wallets have always been seen as the gateway to enter the world of cryptocurrency assets. Of course, here the wallet refers to a decentralized wallet, where users can manage their private keys and assets in the wallet on their own, without relying on any centralized institution. Users can also freely explore various distributed applications and find potential investment opportunities through decentralized wallets.

This article will focus on introducing the wallet applications in the TON ecosystem and guide users on how to create and use them.

TON Wallet Introduction

According to the TON official website, there are currently 31 wallet applications in the TON ecosystem, including TON native wallets and third-party wallets that support TON asset recharge and withdrawal.

1. @wallet

@wallet is a native embedded centralized hosted wallet on Telegram, where users can exchange Toncoin, BTC, and USDT. Users can directly find the Wallet application in the Telegram settings interface, or they can enter the application through https://t.me/wallet.

@wallet supports users to deposit cryptocurrency assets through bank cards or P2P markets, and also supports transferring cryptocurrency assets from other wallets to @wallet. @wallet’s relationship with Telegram is similar to that of WeChat Wallet and WeChat, allowing users to send or receive cryptocurrency assets directly with contacts.

As of June 2023, @wallet has registered over 2.5 million users, and its larger application scenario in the future will be in-app payments and bot payments.

2. TON SLianGuaice

On September 13, 2023, Telegram and the TON Foundation officially announced their partnership at the Token2049 event in Singapore, and integrated the TON native decentralized wallet TON SLianGuaice into Telegram’s @wallet. Currently, TON SLianGuaice is still in the testing phase, but users can already see the entrance of TON SLianGuaice in the @wallet interface.

Creating a TON SLianGuaice wallet is very simple. For the first time creating a TON blockchain wallet, just follow the prompts and click “Wallet Creation.” If you already have a TON blockchain wallet, you can choose to import the mnemonic phrase. A convenient feature of TON SLianGuaice compared to other public chain wallets is that besides the mnemonic phrase, users can also recover the wallet through their Telegram account and email.

Currently, in addition to sending and depositing Toncoin, TON SLianGuaice also supports operations related to NFTs. TON official plans to release the official version of TON SLianGuaice in November 2023 and open it to all non-US users. At that time, TON SLianGuaice will support more comprehensive functions, such as accessing decentralized applications in the TON ecosystem, including DeFi, Game, Social, etc.

3. Third-party wallet applications

If users can’t wait for the official version of TON SLianGuaice to explore the TON ecosystem, they can also choose other third-party TON wallet applications, such as Tonkeeper.

Tonkeeper is a decentralized wallet based on the TON blockchain, with comprehensive functionality and support for Apple, Android, and Web platforms. It can basically meet the needs of various types of users.

The process of creating a Tonkeeper wallet is similar to TON SLianGuaice and other decentralized wallet applications, where you can directly choose to create a new wallet (with mnemonic backup) or import an already created wallet mnemonic.

After the wallet is created, users can click on the “Browser” at the bottom of the app to explore the various ecological applications of TON.
