Permissionless II Bear Market Conference Explores Opportunities in the Cryptocurrency Field
Permissionless II Bear Market Conference Explores Crypto OpportunitiesAuthor: Mippo, blockworks Source: X (original Twitter) @MikeIppolito_ Translation: Shanooba, LianGuai
Permissionless II is a typical bear market conference. Full of alpha opportunities, it is only open to builders and focuses on the greatest opportunities in cryptocurrency.
Here are my views so far:
- What is a forked token?
- Exclusive Interview with MetaMask How does Snaps Disrupt MetaMask’s Ecological Interaction?
- Unveiling How ‘magical’ is the Indian cryptocurrency market that caused Coinbase to fail
1. Blockchain designs are converging
The blockchain ecosystem was initially designed for different optimization goals (such as Ethereum, Cosmos, Solana). Now, as they become more mature and consider scalability, they are starting to encounter problems that other ecosystems have already solved.
With the launch of OP Stack, Optimism is now facing classic Cosmos problems (value capture, coordination upgrades, interoperability, etc.). Soon, they will be forced to deal with classic Solana problems (optimized low latency, high throughput, etc.). The isolated conversations that once existed in different ecosystems are now starting to resonate.
For example:
– PEPC & ABCI++
– Law of Chains & AEZ
– LSM & Two Tiered Staking
We covered all of these topics in a fantastic panel discussion with @aeyakovenko, @buchmanster, and @ben_chain.
2. Regulation is not over in the United States
In the United States, regulatory progress has been slow. The good news is that we have outstanding public servants working tirelessly for us.
@RyanSAdams hosted an excellent panel discussion on this issue with @KMSmithDC, @HesterPeirce, @GOPMajorityWhip, and @BrianQuintenz.
In short:
– Gary Gensler’s behavior is outrageous
– We are not out of the woods yet, but the situation is improving
– There has been some progress so far
3. Data availability is still a bottleneck
4844 is coming, which is a good start, but it is not a complete solution. The exact impact is yet to be determined and is currently unknown. For example, there will now be two markets. One for blocksLianGuaice and another for blobsLianGuaice.
Nevertheless, the issue of data availability will eventually be resolved. This will be achieved through further upgrades (such as danksharding) and a combination of other providers (such as EigenDA, Espresso, Celestia, or other providers). This will make Rollups the best version of themselves.
@TrustlessState covered all of these topics in an excellent panel discussion with @dankrad, @preston_vanloon, and @adietrichs. Also, thanks to @YairCoronel_S for providing a more detailed summary than I just provided.
Finally, my favorite speech today was probably the conference opening remarks by @ErikVoorhees. The volatile nature of cryptocurrency makes it easy to get caught up in the details and forget why we’re all here. Erik reminded us with clear and concise language. If you need some inspiration in the bear market, take a look at this speech. There is a lot more content, but to keep it concise, I’ll end it here.
Thank you to everyone who participated. Looking forward to seeing you again tomorrow.
We will continue to update Blocking; if you have any questions or suggestions, please contact us!
