The meaning of a representative behind Huawei and the enlightenment given to the blockchain

Recently, it has been an eventful event for Huawei. On the 15th, the US Department of Commerce said it would include Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. and its 70 subsidiaries in the so-called "list of entities." The day before yesterday, Google restricted the cooperation between Huawei and Android.

Faced with many current issues, Huawei founder Ren Zhengfei accepted domestic media group interviews today. He expressed four opinions on the domineering response: 1. The US “90-day temporary license” does not make much sense to us; 2. The current practice of American politicians Underestimating our strength, Huawei's 5G will never be affected; 3. Huawei will not narrowly exclude US chips, will do, can do operating systems; 4. Do not incite national sentiment.

Later, we saw that the United States began to gradually introduce relevant laws for other Chinese companies. Just in the early morning of May 17, Huawei’s president wrote an article that was screened across the circle of friends. We found that everything Huawei does is to face the ultimate battlefield thinking infinity. Thus two important core values have been achieved: open innovation and technological self-reliance.

Raise soldiers for a thousand days, for a while. This is to have a big pattern to do.

1
Huawei's landscape

Huawei started its business as a B-side service, and its main business is to build base station equipment around the world. The suffering of Huawei is to start from Ren Zhengfei. Ren Zhengfei was born in a poor village in Zhenning County, Guizhou Province. The parents are rural middle school teachers and there are 6 brothers and sisters in the family. From an early age, he experienced war, poverty, three-year natural disasters, political movements, and the tempering of the Cultural Revolution. Suffering is almost the earliest vocabulary that Ren Zhengfei recognized.

Until high school graduation, Ren Zhengfei did not wear a shirt, in the summer, he was wearing a thick coat. Several people in the family used a quilt to cook in the cellar, and the scene of poverty was stunned by the “rebels” who later copied the family. Ren Zhengfei is hungry and unwilling to read every day. His greatest ideal is to eat a white noodle.

In high school that year, the family was so poor that they had to go to the mountains to dig wild grass roots to cook. Occasionally there is a gimmick, Ren Zhengfei's mother will also be cut into nine equals, each person has only one bit, in order to let each child survive. In 1963, Ren Zhengfei was admitted to the Chongqing Institute of Architecture and Engineering, but at this time the economic situation of the family was even more stretched, and the situation of the younger siblings was even more difficult. The mother tried her best to prepare two shirts and a quilt sheet for him, and accompanied Ren Zhengfei through four years of hard university life.

Suffering is one of the most precious treasures of life. Ren Zhengfei said, "If you have not experienced the poverty and hunger of childhood and the setbacks of life, it is impossible to achieve today's achievements. If you do not work hard, you can't have today's Huawei."

In 1994, Guangzhou first introduced GSM, the second generation mobile communication system (2G) from Europe. From the base station to the mobile phone, only foreign companies can provide it, and everyone is familiar with Ericsson, Nokia, Motorola, Siemens, Alcatel and other players. Huawei's self-developed GSM system has entered the market and needs to break through the Western companies' chasing and interception. It has experienced a long march without smoke. In the middle for six years, no one understands at all.

For a long time at the beginning, Huawei was treated as a liar. In the most difficult moment, Ren Zhengfei even thought of suicide, but in the end he still came over. Li Zibin, then the mayor of Shenzhen, later said in the first episode of the GEM on the CCTV2 Dialogue: "The confession received 3,000 copies, saying that Huawei owed workers 10 billion yuan and owed customers 10 billion yuan. I owe a tax of 10 billion yuan. Since these letters came out, Huawei had no orders for six months, and Ren Zhengfei was very upset. I went to Beijing to find Vice Premier Wu Bangguo. I said Prime Minister, I am looking for you because there is a business that is in trouble. I would like to ask the organizers to investigate and see if the things mentioned in the letter are right. I said that if you are right, you will arrest Ren Zhengfei, he has fraudulent behavior, and if not, send a notice to prove his innocence."

In the end, even the Premier Zhu Rongji came to the scene. After several weeks of repeated investigations, it was finally proved that Huawei had no problems. Premier Zhu said to the person in charge of Huawei at the 1999 financial exhibition: "You go back and tell your boss, technically. To be innovative, be stable in business!"

In the fall of 1999, Huawei finally succeeded in acquiring a mobile communication project with Fujian Mobile of up to RMB 320 million. Officially represented Huawei's historic turning point. At that time, Li Xiangting reported to Ren Zhengfei that he had finally won the bid. Ren Zhengfei was in tears and could not cry. He kept pounding on the table, trembled and shouted over and over again: "I said that I have no problem, I said that I have no problem! I have a problem, Fujian will give Huawei such a big project, the country will give Huawei this way." Big project?…" The people around me burst into tears.

In fact, Huawei was later sold for two times. According to the report of the Financial Times at the time, in 2003, Huawei had an agreement with the American company Motorola to sell the company for $7.5 billion. At the time, Motorola's COO Mike and Ren Zhengfei finalized the deal after meeting in Hainan. The follow-up due diligence was also carried out very smoothly, and the entire structure was carefully designed to ensure smooth progress.

But soon, Motorola's chairman and CEO announced his resignation and was replaced by Ed Zander. The first thing after Ed Zander took office was to reject the acquisition agreement on the grounds that the acquisition of an unknown Chinese company like Huawei was too expensive, not to mention paying in cash.

At that time, the reason why Huawei was to sell to Motorola was the idea of being right and wrong: Huawei and the United States sooner or later had conflicts. Because in early 2003, Cisco Systems Inc. sued Huawei for infringement of its intellectual property rights, covering almost all areas of intellectual property litigation in the 77-page indictment. It is because of this lawsuit that Huawei can only be traded in the United States and has not been able to enter the mainstream market until today.

Huawei's strategy can be seen from the beginning of the 21st century, Ren Zhengfei said: The main purpose of independent innovation is not to be a loner, we want friends all over the world. Therefore, there is no imagination that "the spare tire is easy to use, how to use it", to understand our strategic thinking. We are not willing to hurt our friends, we must help them to have good financial statements, even if we have adjustments, we must help.

Since 2001, Huawei has been widely contacted by major international companies such as IBM, Motorola, Intel, Marconi, and NEC in the United States, Europe, and Japan. At that time, Huawei planned to sell 25% to 30% of the shares, and at the same time absorb 5 to 6 international companies to invest in shares, and become Huawei's strategic partner, each strategic investor's shareholding ratio should preferably not exceed 5%.

The cooperation between Huawei and IBM and other companies is mainly to consider the cooperation of strategic investors' capital will be value-added, without considering cooperation in technology and market exchange. Unfortunately, the more demand of foreign companies is the naked capital holding interest rather than cooperation and win-win. In the end, Ren Zhengfei saw the truth about the capital of foreign companies.

So when asked, "What kind of business does Huawei want to develop into, or what direction?" Ren Zhengfei replied: "Besides not letting capital come in, anything else can be discussed. We don't need capital to come in, the nature of capital greed." Destroy the realization of our ideals. "

In the 1990s, Huawei's business logic was to do B2B business. In 2000, it developed to B2B2C, and it was not until the emergence of 3G network that it began to develop into B2C. When Jobs returned to Apple in 1998, a strategist asked him: How can you go beyond windows and intel? Jobs said a very Zenful word: I am waiting for the next big opportunity.

The trend is always more important than ability, and you must always learn to follow the trend.

When the 3G network was just rolled out, Huawei was far from realizing the importance of the terminal business, and there was no inclination in the resources. This stems from the consciousness of Ren Zhengfei: business is bigger or more friends, or enemies more and more. To be a C-side product means to compete with all possible brands on a large scale. And if the consumer is not satisfied, it is easy to kill a brand. Never miss a C-end product.

It is said that at that time, Huawei would dare to mention C-side products, and Ren Zhengfei would be angered. So Huawei had the idea of selling the terminal business twice. The main reason is that the profit of the terminal business is too thin. At that time, Huawei mainly customized mobile phones and data cards for operators. The average selling price of a single terminal product was less than RMB 300. Although it also earned money, the profit margin was far worse than Huawei’s original main telecommunications equipment. .

Just when Huawei was hesitant to sell the terminal business, Liu Nanjie and other Huawei Blue Army experts wrote a report to Ren Zhengfei, titled "Abandoning the terminal is to abandon Huawei's future", and clearly put forward the "end pipe cloud" strategy : Only by retaining the terminal services, Huawei can truly understand the needs of consumer users, and then understand and guide the requirements of the operators' customers, so that the pipeline business can be made bigger and the cloud business can be done.

At this time, Apple introduced the first generation of iPhone in 2007, which gave a clear business logic model, which drove the entire 3G business and made Huawei see the future.

The biggest difference between 3G and 2G is data. 3G brought a lot of data services, and mobile devices and other terminal devices drove data demand, and data demand, Huawei's previous 2B business – pipeline business was also pulled. Therefore, through this incident, Huawei is aware of the importance of the terminal business. But at this point in time, Huawei is still accumulating, and the time that is truly recognized by the world is 4G. The biggest difference between 4G and 3G is the experience. More streamlined videos, more efficient live streaming and more rich media streaming. These are all excellent experiences before 3G.

But the real outbreak of Huawei comes from 5G. Huawei has always insisted on the investment of technology – to cultivate its core competitiveness in the material technology, situational awareness, basic function enhancement, and continuous innovation investment. What does 5G stand for? It is a revolution in the way smart devices interact. In the past, the way TV interacted was on the remote control, which was simple and rude. After that, the reason why PCs can enter thousands of households is because of the mouse.

In the future, the driving force of the terminal industry will appear in the innovation of interaction. How will AI and IOT interact with humans? This is a big question, use touch, or use voice? Still using brain waves, or use your eyes directly? Who can first develop an interactive way that fits the future trend and who can become the king of the 5G era.

It is precisely because Huawei is getting bigger and bigger, so Huawei's strategy has become the goal of infinity, sustainable development, ecological around the industry chain, so that both upstream and downstream can enjoy the industrial development dividend.
Everyone heard that the press conference took office and thanked Apple for saying that they wanted to learn a good company like Apple. This is all Mandarin. Everyone has to see how Huawei does it. In fact, Apple's long-standing strategy is to close the source, a single big, introduce competition, and squeeze the profit margin of suppliers. 95% of the profits on a product are earned by Apple. This is not called the industrial chain. This is called monopoly. This is also the essential reason why Apple is destined to decline.

Huawei has done one thing, called open innovation.

Many of Huawei's patents come from universities and research institutes around the world. Huawei sponsors these research institutions, but it does not steal the fruits of their labor. Instead, share it with these professors and commercialize the research. At the same time, let the upstream and downstream of each industry enjoy the dividend of development. How did you do it?

For example, BOE. Huawei relied mainly on Samsung before. Later, it found that products that depend too much on other countries would fall into the trap of being overwhelmed, and Samsung’s screen supply was not too good. The screens required by Huawei were not delivered in time. The goods have caused some mobile phones to fail to enter the market on time. Later, Huawei signed an agreement with BOE to help BOE to develop a high-performance screen. The two companies will develop together and further cooperate. And invested in the R & D and manufacturing of high-end models.

It is because of the help of Huawei that BOE can try to break through the technology that could not be broken. Because Huawei's orders guarantee BOE's profit margin. What is the result? It is the original supplier chosen by Apple that is Samsung, but because of this, Apple lacks bargaining power for Samsung. Apple doesn't want to go up in the panel purchase price, and more choices can save costs. So in the end, Apple chose the cheap and high quality BOE as its main supplier.

It is precisely because BOE has a support from Huawei's company that it has sufficient profits to do technological innovation. At the same time, because of BOC's technological innovation, other Chinese brands have more choices and can do it. More complete 2C end consumer products. Huawei is like a huge rock, creating a huge circle of ripples across the lake.

It is precisely because of Huawei's strategic thinking pattern that it has driven the development of the entire upstream and downstream industry chain in China. This is not the American Apple-style win, but the Chinese-style win-win.

So a few days ago, we saw that the United States began to block Huawei. What are the US high-tech companies doing? The original contract that took three months to sign was signed on the same day. How many goods were supplied to Huawei as much as possible, and all the goods were given to Huawei. This is both the result of Huawei's win-win thinking and another important future.

The high-tech companies in the United States have lost 80% of the world's largest customers. The technology in this field is like the earth's three-person Tomoko, which has been sealed forever at this level and cannot be broken. Profit is the wisdom of the high-tech field. Losing the source of profit loses the incentive to innovate. Will the US government pay for the development of high-tech companies in the United States? In the first two days, Trump made it clear in his speech that high-tech companies in the United States should make the market more free, and the private sector should undertake technological development rather than the government.

Huawei's long-term preparations are all for today's moment. Not to replace competitors, but to not be restrained by others. This is another important thing that Huawei has done: technology independence.

Why did Huawei have made a lot of spare tires to prepare for the ultimate survival situation a long time ago? On the one hand, it stems from the experience of Ren Zhengfei's own suffering, and the other part is Huawei's values: customer-centered, emphasizing the struggle-oriented. What is the underlying logic behind it? It is the increase in negative entropy.

Ren Zhengfei once said that the law of history is extinction, and our responsibility is to prolong life indefinitely.

Entropy is a word derived from the second law of physics thermodynamics. When a non-living system is isolated or placed in a uniform environment, all movements will quickly stop due to the surrounding friction; the difference in potential or chemical potential will gradually disappear; The same is true of the substance; the temperature gradually becomes uniform due to the heat conduction. As a result, the entire system eventually degenerates into a lifeless, lifeless mass.

Thus, it has reached the "maximum entropy" that physicists have become. This is a state of persistence, in which no event can be observed any more, it has been attributed to death. Entropy represents the degree of chaos in a system, or the degree of disorder – the more disordered the system, the larger the entropy; the more ordered the system, the smaller the entropy. In fact, the earliest concept of entropy in the world is Laozi: "There is more than enough to make up for the loss of the heavens, and the human path is not enough to provide more than enough." What do you mean? Switching to the vernacular is "the increase in the entropy of the heavens and the reduction of the human entropy."

Huawei's values are the maximum negative entropy increase, resisting all possible damage caused by entropy. Therefore, living is the lowest strategy and the highest strategy of Huawei.

Today, the United States is restricting the development of more and more Chinese high-tech enterprises. As I said in my previous article, there is no trade war between China and the United States, only the ideology. Chinese high-tech enterprises with Huawei-style negative entropy increase are also due to such a historic opportunity, which will gradually rise.

2
Enlightenment given to the blockchain

The reason why Huawei has become Huawei today is relying on a strategy: to maximize the negative entropy increase with the final battlefield thinking. Under the guidance of such a value, two important cores have emerged: open innovation and technological self-reliance.

The essence of the blockchain is the negative entropy increase of the machine life.

Blockchain is the evolution of machine civilization with the thinking of the final battlefield. Through the massive cooperation of human beings to change the production relationship, the intelligent device IOT is used to share data with the network, and finally form the network AI with human behavior data.

What is Bitcoin? Bitcoin's POW is a set of orderly and stable data sets that are used to drain a large amount of energy into the universe. This set of data is bitcoin. This is the typical negative entropy increase. What is Ethereum? Ethereum's POS is that the network stabilizes its negative entropy by delining entropy to the holders of each Ethereum data set, and finally forms a huge operating system.

It is also because of a strategic thinking of machine civilization that brings two important cores of blockchain: extreme open source and decentralization.

Today, we all know that Huawei is kidnapped as a company by the political consciousness of a big country. The world's top Internet companies like Google have to obey the US government's decision to cut off cooperation with Huawei. If a political body can arbitrarily use ideology to suppress technological innovation and win-win, it may eventually lead to the stagnation of the entire human future.

It is precisely because of this that I think that more and more companies will join the "extreme open source and decentralization" ideology in the future. As I said in my last article: In the future, the logic of more and more “demographic dividends” in blockchains is the result of the three parties’ struggle for discourse power – the East and West human civilization represented by China and the United States and Bitcoin The machine civilization "competition".

The open source movement is a collection of people from all over the world. In different countries and different systems, different languages are used to create a bunch of innovative technologies that are all human beings and that everyone can use freely. They may not be able to understand each other's words, may have completely different political views, or even be completely hostile, but still jointly contribute to the project. I can't think of any other things human beings can achieve such a high level of ideology and a wide range of influence.

In the past few decades, countless technology innovators hope that people around the world can use their own algorithms and code, regardless of whether the hostile country will get his results. This sentiment is noble and profound. There used to be a professor who wanted to explain the encryption technology to foreign students, risked sitting on his own for 10 years, picked up legal weapons and challenged the US government, and achieved the final victory. Scientific and technological innovation is beyond the ideology and belongs to the precious wealth of the entire human civilization.

The US government can prevent Huawei from using Google's Android core system, but is it possible to prevent Chinese high-tech companies from using other open source software? In fact, it is not difficult to be an operating system in this era. The hard part is how to build the whole ecology. Software and Internet ecology are the products of globalization. The completion of the entire ecology is done by engineers and enterprises all over the world. It is difficult for any country to independently build a set of ecology. Even the United States cannot be separated from the world. Huawei's operating system has also been forced to come out due to this limitation, perhaps just creating the third-class top operating system ecosystem.

Looking back at the entire history of mankind, the open source movement and the encryption movement are inseparable and complement each other. These two parts correspond exactly to the extreme open source and decentralization, just like the two sides of Taiji – yin and yang.

Cryptologists played the role of the beginning of the story, because cryptographic software was included in the arms control in World War II, causing conflicts between cryptographers and the legal system. It is precisely because of this kind of conflict that the cryptographer has long used the law to challenge the government, and finally the court ruled that the encryption software is not an arms control. It is because of the judgment that the source code is defined as a kind of freedom of speech, and the open source movement has produced influence like today. It is precisely because of the open source movement that Android, Linux systems and other applications such as the underlying operating system and browsers are produced. Otherwise, software and system tools may still be in the hands of a few companies, ordinary people or Enterprise or price is extremely expensive.

The result is that the entire global Internet era will not appear in the past three decades. Until now, the blockchain, the most important asset in the world for the next 50 years, will cease to exist.

Fortunately, this hypothesis did not appear. On January 8, 2009, someone made a proof in the cryptography circle: "I made the proof-of-work difficulty ridiculously easy to start with, so for a little while in the beginning a Typical PC will be able togenerate coins in just a few hours." The name of the person who posted the message was Satoshi Nakamoto. In Chinese, the name was translated as "Sakamoto Satoshi".

In the end, cryptographers not only changed the course of World War II, they also changed the course of the world. It is precisely because the participants in the encryption movement are extremely focused on privacy and freedom, thus creating the original appearance of the blockchain world. Furthermore, the human civilization represented by the Sino-American ideology is co-operated with the machine civilization represented by Bitcoin.

From the negative entropy increase to the two cores of extreme open source and decentralization, and then to the competition between humans and machines, this process just proves that Lao Tzu described the words generated by the universe in Tao Te Ching: Daoshengyi, Yisheng Er, II Health three, three things.

I believe that the result of today's Huawei as a representative to fight against a country in the United States is the result of the rise of China's thousands of Huawei. At the same time, more and more high-tech enterprises will turn to open source products and encryption products, which means that the result of today's competition between China and the United States is likely to be a long-term explosion in the blockchain world. Today, countless people with lofty ideals and project teams are working hard for a great goal of human long-term happiness. In the next few years, we will see the real rise of machine civilization.

Please allow me to end this article with a paragraph from Ren Zhengfei’s press conference:

"We sacrificed individuals and families. We are for an ideal. At the highest point, we have conflicts with the United States, but in the end we have to contribute to humanity together."
