Caleb Yeoh said,
“Whether you buy eggs, milk, fruit or vegetables, there is now a way to pay in cryptocurrencies. Bowen Hills IGA will also support other cryptocurrency payments.”

TravelbyBit also created a POS terminal for merchants wishing to accept cryptocurrency. According to Bitcoinist, in October 2018, Coin.com partnered with TravelbyBit to launch a POS payment system that integrates blockchain technology into major airports around the world. To achieve this goal, the company said it has invested more than $2.5 million.
Supermarkets around the world are accepting bitcoin more and more
Retailers around the world are gradually accepting bitcoin. For example, in December 2018, the news portal Portal do Bitcoin reported that Oasis Supermercados, a large Brazilian supermarket chain, has begun accepting payments for Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies and using Coinwise as a payment platform.
Later, in June 2019, the Slovenian Tuš supermarket also announced that they would accept cryptocurrency payments through EliPay POS.
Some Argentine retailers are also willing to accept encrypted payments. Most notably, in September 2018, La Nacion reported that a butcher shop in Córdoba was accepting bitcoin payments.
The fact that global retailers are increasingly accepting bitcoin contradicts the perceptions of bankers and regulators. Specifically, on July 11, 2019, Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell told Senators when the Senate testified on monetary policy that Bitcoin is replacing the function of gold in the global economy, such as value storage. But Powell ignored the growing popularity of Bitcoin as a form of payment.
