Worldcoin The Dystopian Nightmare of Cryptocurrency

Worldcoin The Dystopian Nightmare of Cryptocurrency

Original title: Worldcoin Is Everything That’s Wrong With Cryptocurrency

Would you be willing to give up your freedom and identity for some worthless tokens? A new cryptocurrency project has just been released, and it is one of the worst and most disgusting things ever.

This garbage project called Worldcoin aims to “create a new identity and financial network for everyone”.

The idea is to assign a digital identity to everyone, which will help verify that they are real people. This can be used in many areas such as cybersecurity, governance, and even universal basic income (UBI).

Sounds good, right? But the problem is: in order to register for Worldcoin and get your “World ID”, you have to scan your eyeball with a spherical device. This seems like something out of George Orwell’s novel, but it is true and happening as you read this article. If you haven’t noticed the problem, let me explain.

The Death of Freedom

Do you value your privacy? Being able to go anywhere you want anytime? Maybe you have some weird hobbies or private pleasures that make you a little embarrassed, but you don’t mind because no one knows.

In George Orwell’s novel “1984”, the entire world population lives under the rule of a super government led by “Big Brother” – yes, that’s where the TV show comes from.

“Big Brother” can see everything, continuously monitor the population, and constantly indoctrinate them with propaganda to maintain their conformity.

“Conformity.” Remember that word.

Back to reality. By voluntarily scanning your eyeball with Worldcoin’s spherical device, you are giving up your biometric information. Biometrics is one of the most reliable personal identification systems. In other words, by registering for Worldcoin, you not only reveal your identity to Sam Altman, but you also allow him to track your every move.

For what? Some fictional, worthless cryptocurrency that has no practical use other than attracting fools to give up their privacy. Remember, the person in charge of this project is Sam Altman, not someone else, he is the CEO of OpenAI – possibly one of the most powerful artificial intelligence companies in the world.

Forget about your embarrassing hobbies or quirks. That guy will be able to know where every penny you earn is spent. He might even duplicate your iris, bypass biometric checks, and pretend to be you. I’m not saying this will definitely happen. But it is a possible scenario. And in return, you will only get some tokens that you will never use.

What is the significance of doing this?

The exact purpose of this entire anti-utopian project seems to revolve around establishing a global identity and financial network, using the pretext of solving security and privacy issues to achieve centralized control. This project, called Worldcoin, aims to allocate a digital identity to everyone by scanning their irises with spherical devices, in order to achieve their so-called “global consistency”.

However, it is precisely the concept and requirement of “global consistency” that raises concerns about privacy and individual freedom. Embracing decentralized cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin can indeed offer solutions to some of the problems they claim to solve without compromising privacy and handing control over to centralized entities.

The statement from Worldcoin is filled with a George Orwellian tone, which adds to people’s uneasiness about the true intentions of this project. Orwell’s “1984” depicts a nightmare scenario of a society constantly monitored and controlled, and the analogy with this project raises legitimate concerns about the potential dangers of such a system. Critics argue that such a project may prioritize centralized control and surveillance over individual privacy and freedom.

Don’t fall into the Worldcoin scam

Who knows what kind of control mechanism they will implement with this evil thing? I mean, these people have been advocating for central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), which are essentially similar to Worldcoin but without your biometric data. That’s even worse. It may seem exaggerated now, but this could be the beginning of a rapidly escalating situation. Just look at the development of ChatGPT.

Some things money can’t buy. Freedom is one of them.

If you value your freedom – or what’s left of it – stay away from these spherical devices. It’s not worth it.
