BOSCore co-founder Winlin: Blockchain technology should serve the principle of application landing and detailed explanation of airdrop coin burning proposal | Chain Node AMA

With the development and construction of public chains, DApps have gradually become a hot topic. On the afternoon of November 26, BOSCore co-sponsor Winlin (Liu Guangtao) was a guest node ChaiNode AMA, and talked about his own views on the status and development of DApps.

BOSCore, which originated from the EOS ecosystem, is committed to solving various technical difficulties encountered by DApps on the blockchain and using technology to promote the development of the DApp market. As BOSCore Winlin emphasized, "Blockchain technology should serve the application landing, so supporting more DApps on the chain and meeting their corresponding technical needs will always be the direction of BOS."

Application landing is one of the important prerequisites for the long-term development of the blockchain industry

Some people say that DApps are the only way out of the public chain; others say that DApps are hot and hot, but weak. Before objective evaluation, let's briefly understand it.

DApp stands for Decentralized Application, and it is also called distributed application. There is an image metaphor saying: Bitcoin is like the big brother of the year and can only make calls; Ethereum is like a little bit better than big brother. In addition to answering calls, you can also play greedy snakes and tetris. Ground games; and EOS is like the first generation of iphone, on the basis of which the Internet, email and other functions have been added. Here, the App is running on PHS and iphone, and the corresponding one that runs on Ethereum and EOS is DApp. The former is based on the Android or iPhone system, while the latter is based on the blockchain underlying chain.

The earliest DApp is Satoshi Nakamoto. Its design is actually not complicated. The user hits the coin to the address of the selected odds, and the website will automatically generate the number of dice to determine whether you won. Whether the bytes are less than the lucky number of the corresponding odds).

In this way, spinach DApps are still the one with the highest daily activity. At present, there are about 3,000 DApps in the entire crypto ecosystem. Overall, although there has been a certain amount of development, the amount of real users is not high. Winlin pointed out:

Application landing is one of the important prerequisites for the long-term development of the blockchain industry. In the past year, DApps have indeed performed poorly. This is also related to the early development of the industry. The single application scenario and the lack of data on the chain led to the slow development of DApps, which did not open up the imagination of the market. Application provides ammunition.

In general, the application prospects of DApps are wide, and decentralization is its biggest advantage. However, the current DApp market is still in an early stage of development, with a small user base and a poor overall user experience. There is still a long way to go in the future.

BOS 3s LIB makes transaction confirmation on the BOSCore chain 50 times faster than EOS

3s LIB is a 3 second speed consensus, which means that on the BOSCore chain, the transaction is finally confirmed in 3 seconds.

Part of the aforementioned poor DApp user experience is the smoothness of the DApp-Bitcoin transactions are divided into two parts, block confirmation and confirmation. A transaction takes about an hour to complete; using DPoS Due to the increase in the consensus rate of EOS, the completion time of each transaction is shortened to about 3 minutes. In other words, the currently submitted trx needs to wait about 3 minutes to confirm whether it has been recorded in the chain. For many DApps, especially those that require immediate confirmation, this performance is intolerable.

2 (Some DApps shown on dapp.com)

The emergence of BOS 3s LIB has greatly improved the efficiency of consensus, making the transaction confirmation speed on the BOSCore chain 50 times faster than EOS and 1,200 times faster than Bitcoin. Behind the BOS 3s LIB is a solution that BM has expressed highly recognized in the EOS telegram group-Batch PBFT. Compared with the pipelined Byzantine Fault Tolerance adopted by EOSIO, the PBFT (Practical Byzantine Fault Tolerance) adopted by BOSCore enables each BP (super node) to simultaneously confirm the blocks that are being produced in real time, instead of Like the former, each BP must be confirmed in turn in accordance with the established sequence, which greatly shortens the confirmation time.

3 (Comparison of key functions between DPOS pipeline BFT and DPOS batch PBFT)

Among them, BP is dynamically changing, and the security requirements are very high here, which is also a major difficulty in this technology. The final implementation of BOS 3s LIB also reflects the consistent logic of BOS-"more available chain, born for DApps". When it comes to providing better services for DApps, Winlin said:

EOS is the shoulder on which BOS stands. The current technology of BOS is generally better than EOS. BOS has its own vision and mission to be a public chain led by the Chinese community. BOSCore is the first IBC cross-chain solution to achieve the decentralization of the DPoS consensus. It is the first to achieve a fast consensus that can not be tampered with within 3 seconds of the transaction. In addition to being the preferred public chain for commercial landing, BOSCore can also be used as a circulation chain for various heterogeneous chain tokens and as a free port in the blockchain world.

In addition, Winlin also mentioned that at present, 11 DApps are running after the BOS mainnet is started. Except for 3 DEXs, the rest are game-type DApps. Utilizing the technical characteristics of BOS will have some practical applications on the chain in the future, such as artworks' private transactions, resumes on-chain, on-chain data sharing, etc. will be BOS's DApp concept in the future.

Popular Q & A in this issue: Airdrop coin burning proposal

In this AMA, in addition to 3s LIB, Winlin also gave a detailed explanation of the "BOS token burning proposal for unactivated accounts" that community friends are most concerned about:

Q: Is it reasonable for the BOS team to "burn" customer account assets? Like the Bitcoin developer said that he wanted to burn Satoshi's bitcoin, even if Satoshi said he would not use these coins, this does not mean that the community can make a decision for him to burn his tokens. Coin, if I bought BOS on the exchange, and I have no time to trade in the future, is it also possible to be "burned" or destroyed?

This burning is aimed at "inactive airdrop accounts" and does not involve any challenges to the ownership of assets on the chain. This is not the same thing as Satoshi Nakamoto's Bitcoin burn. The two essential differences are that the BOS burned in this referendum proposal is an "inactive airdrop account", and they themselves have not contributed to community construction. The airdrop when the mainnet was launched was intended to attract more community members to participate, and those who did not participate should not share the results made by others in the community, which is equivalent to someone being able to obtain the fruits of others at no cost.

The burning proposal has passed the community referendum and has a window period of more than 2 weeks. If members really want to participate in the community, they only need to participate in a node vote to activate their account.

"Unactivated account" is a periodic issue and will not affect the tokens normally owned by subsequent users. The principle of supremacy of private keys will not change. Q: After the airdrop coin is burned, if real users suddenly log in to their account and find that their assets are cleared, are there any remedial or compensation measures?

Real users are not affected by this combustion. This combustion is only for "airdrop inactive accounts". Normally used BOS accounts will not affect.

Q: Most of the people who voted in the BOS burning referendum were large households, and large households accounted for a large part. Will this become a big household's proposal in the future, and big households will vote for themselves? What are the official review criteria for these cases? Is this kind of scheme just "democracy" for large households?

will not. For proposals, the team does not have any private standards, all rules are public rules of the BOSWPS (https://www.boswps.io) referendum system. The advantage or starting point of the DPoS consensus mechanism is that the more the number of coins held, the more it will promote the healthy development of the project from the perspective of economic benefits. I personally understand that the essence of "democracy" is to provide a fair and open competitive environment. It does not mean that everyone can vote is "democracy". Uncle Sam is an example.

In summary, this burning proposal is for an unactivated airdrop account. Winlin believes that this is a phased plan that is beneficial to community fairness and community building. It will not affect real users' holding of tokens and will never The basic principle of changing the private key to supremacy.
