Opside ZK-Rollup LaunchBase Major Update Supports multiple L1 options such as ETH/BSC/Polygon testnet.

Opside ZK-Rollup LaunchBase has a major update that supports multiple L1 options like ETH/BSC/Polygon testnet.

RaaS (Rollup as a Service) was once hailed as the most promising track in the Rollup field. However, which type of RaaS can ultimately win market favor? Is it the OP Stack that seizes the opportunity and has a certain scale, or the ZK Stack that has been developing rapidly in recent times? This still needs to be tested by the market.

As one of the builders in the ZK field, Opside has recently released some good news.

On August 14th, the decentralized ZK-RaaS platform Opside officially announced a major update to its ZK-Rollup LaunchBase, supporting developers to build custom zkEVM application chains. The five core ZK-Rollup components, including Layer1, zkEVM, Gas, DA (Data Availability), and Sequencer, are now open for custom selection. Moreover, this version of ZK-Rollup LaunchBase also supports adding various Infra as a Service options for project initiators to choose from.

This move marks the milestone achievements Opside has made in the modularization and customization of Rollup, enabling it to meet the needs of more developers and project initiators in building custom zkEVM application chains in a more flexible manner, and expanding and empowering the entire ZK ecosystem together with developers.

Highlight 1: Support for more L1 options such as ETH/BSC/Polygon

The choice of Layer1, which is the foundation of Layer2 network construction, is crucial since all user transaction behaviors eventually return to Layer1. In the early design of Opside, how to meet developers’ needs for different EVM-compatible base networks has also become a top priority. Currently, the newly launched LaunchBase by Opside has added support for testing networks such as ETH/BSC/Polygon. Developers can choose ETH Goerli, Polygon Mumbai, BNB Testnet Opside, and Opside as the base networks when creating L2 according to their project needs. It is expected that after a series of stress tests on the testing networks, support for mainnets such as ETH/BNB Chain/Polygon will be implemented in early September.

It is clear that modularity not only allows developers to flexibly choose different Layer1 options but also provides diversification and flexibility for other components such as zkEVM and Gas Fee Token. For example, in terms of zkEVM types, Opside now fully supports Polygon zkEVM and is further expanding support for zkSync, Scroll, StartNet, and other zkEVM implementations such as Linea and Taiko. In addition, there are more options for Gas Fee Tokens. In addition to choosing Gas Fee Tokens from L1, project initiators or developers can also choose to use custom tokens as Gas Fee Tokens for ZK-Rollup.

Before that, more than 12 top industry projects have generated exclusive zkEVM application chains through Opside LaunchBase, most of which are applications for Defi, Socialfi, and Gamefi.

For example, ReadOn, as an excellent content distribution platform in the industry, generated its own ZK-Rollup, bridge, and browser in 10 minutes through Opside Rollup LaunchBase, and used its own Native Token as the Gas Fee Token for ZK-Rollup.

Another example is Era7, which was once one of the top three active game projects on the BNB Chain. It also generated an exclusive zkEVM application chain using Opside Rollup LaunchBase. It is worth mentioning that in some special contracts, they also use the 0 Gas fee feature provided by Opside, so users do not need to pay any fees when calling the contract, greatly reducing the entry barriers for traditional Web2 game players.

In addition, there are still more than 20 project parties actively communicating and promoting with the Opside team. The Opside team also hopes to see more project parties using ZK-Rollup technology to reduce operating costs and improve user experience while ensuring security.

Highlight 2: Provide multiple DA and Shared Sequencer components

DA and Shared Sequencer are also important components of customizing ZK-Rollup.

Regarding DA, ZK-Rollup can upload the data state of each off-chain processed transaction to Layer1. With this data, individual developers/project parties can reproduce the state of these Rollups and verify the chain itself. In this version, Opside can provide more DA components for developers to choose from. In the future, the DA options provided by Opside ZK-RaaS LaunchBase will include three types: Base Layer (already supported), Opside DA (PoS), and many third-party DAs (such as Celestia, Eigenlayer, etc.). Project parties and developers can also make different choices according to the project’s needs.

The Shared Sequencer is essentially a set of sequencers compatible with Rollup, which can provide services to different Rollups. However, all second-layer Rollups currently used on Ethereum use centralized sequencers. In Opside’s vision, the options for sequencers that Opside ZK-RaaS can provide in the future include three types: centralized (already supported), Opside decentralized Sequencer (PoS), and third-party decentralized Sequencer (Espresso, Radius, etc.). In this way, developers can enjoy flexibility and convenience while ensuring the security of the entire application chain.

Highlight 3: Supports various Infra as a Service, including Dex, Oracle, NFTmarket, DID, Wallet, etc.

In addition to adding various customized functions, the ZK-Rollup LaunchBase launched by Opside this time also supports adding various options for Infra as a Service for project parties to choose from in the early stage. After the exclusive zkEVM application chain is generated, there will be certain demand for the on-chain infrastructure. For example, DeFi applications will have a great demand for infrastructure such as oracles. Taking this into consideration, Opside has also reached cooperation with well-known infrastructure providers and project parties in the industry, and provides various Infra as a Service options for developers to choose from in the LaunchBase options, including but not limited to Wallet as a Service, Dex as a Service, Oracle as a Service, NFT Market as a Service, DID as a Service, etc. The options already cover OKX Web3 Wallet, iZUMi, Star protocol, SLianGuaice ID, Supraoracle, and more collaborations are still being negotiated and waiting to be connected.

Here, we also welcome more project parties interested in the Opside ZK ecosystem and Infra as a Service to have more in-depth communication with the Opside team: [email protected]. Let us work together to build a more prosperous ZK ecosystem!

About Opside

Opside is a decentralized ZK-RaaS (ZK-Rollup as a Service) platform and a leading ZKP (Zero-Knowledge Proof) mining network in the industry. Opside adopts a hybrid consensus of PoS & PoW, providing Web3 developers with the functionality to generate zkEVM application chains with one click. At the same time, the huge computing tasks brought by these numerous ZK-Rollups also create a significant demand for computing power, providing a meaningful mining scenario for miners worldwide.
