Does the popularity of Bitcoin depend on emoji? They initiated a petition

Recently, an anonymous person launched a petition asking the official agency Unicode Consortium, which manages emoji, to add Bitcoin to its currency symbol list. Although the petition has not yet been approved, many members of the crypto community believe that this could spark a positive discussion that could drive the popularity of the world's largest cryptocurrency.

Despite its market value exceeding $ 190 billion, the cryptocurrency market is still a niche market. If it wants to enter a larger market, join the ranks of the stock market, commodities and politics, it needs higher penetration.

Although many companies are working to solve this problem and make the market more aware of Bitcoin , some believe that the concept of Bitcoin can be spread through emoji.

An anonymous person launched a petition on Change.org asking Bitcoin to have its own emoji. This petition is for the California-based nonprofit Unicode Consortium, which created the standard for modern emoji.

The cryptocurrency community recognizes this. They think that the ₿ symbol used at this stage is too niche and difficult to set up, and most people are not used to using it.

"There is a big difference between characters and emojis," said a reddit user, adding that having a bitcoin character is a good start, but emoji will be easier to use.

Another important point to note is that emojis are not limited to text messages. Being able to add the world's largest cryptocurrency emoji to platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram may make the entire industry more legitimate.

The widely used emojis in communication applications such as WhatsApp, Telegram, Facebook Messenger, and Viber may also help the spread of Bitcoin.

For example, in 2019, a series of other emojis were also approved. Earlier this year, the Unicode Consortium approved several new emojis, focusing on "human performance", designed to remove the shadow of people with disabilities.

These emojis cannot completely improve the status of people with disabilities, and Bitcoin emoji cannot make it a universal currency. However, it has the potential to become news and spark discussions about the entire crypto industry.
