Satoshi Nakamoto may be the creator of Monero. Do you accept the findings?

Although no one knows who is behind the name Satoshi Nakamoto, a research document suggests that the creator of Bitcoin may have developed another cryptocurrency, Monero (XMR).

Satoshi Nakamoto may be the creator of Monero. Do you accept the findings?

Satoshi Nakamoto has motivation to improve Bitcoin algorithm

The latest research from Monero Outreach concludes that Bitcoin and Monero may be the product of the same person or entity.

Monero is a cryptocurrency that came out in 2014 to solve Bitcoin's privacy issues. Although Monero also uses a public ledger, no one can track transactions on it, which makes XMR the most widely used currency for dark web users.

On December 12, 2012, Monero's white paper was published, about three years after the birth of the Bitcoin genesis block. The author of the Monero White Paper is Nicolas van Saberhagen. As you may have guessed, this is also a pseudonym, so no one knows who created Monroe.

Monero Outreach considers Satoshi Nakamoto and Nicolas van Saberhagen to be the same entity. The main argument provided by the authors of this study is that Satoshi Nakamoto's motivation for publishing the CryptoNote white paper (which lists the concept of Monero) is clear. In a Bitcointalk forum post in August 2010, Satoshi Nakamoto shared a concept of privacy that later appeared in Monero's white paper-including hiding the secret addresses of receivers and senders of XMR (stealth addresses) and ring signatures.

In addition, when CryptoNote 1.0 was released, Satoshi Nakamoto had noticed changes in Bitcoin block size and halved mining rewards. The Monroe blockchain solves these problems. It also improves proof of work, making it easier for people using GPUs to mine.

Makes sense in writing style

In analyzing the writing styles of these two white papers, you can notice the connection between them. The authors of the study used stylistics to analyze using a software program called "Java Graphic Author Attribution Program" (JGAAP). They found that the author of this CryptoNote white paper is more likely to be Satoshi Nakamoto than the author of 15 other well-known papers selected from the Monero literature.

Some similarities are visible to the naked eye. For example, both white papers use the English spelling of "favour / favourable", while the abbreviation of "can't" is the opposite of the style commonly found in academic papers, and "in this paper" is often used , we … ". In addition, both white papers use black and white line drawings with solid and dotted lines.

Thunderosa, creative director of Monero Outreach, said:

"When you look at these two white papers at the same time, you will be shocked by their amazing similarities. Maybe we should start calling the author Satoshi van Saberhagen."

However, the authors of this study do not expect Bitcoin or the Monroe community to accept this conclusion.

Xmrhaelan, head of Monero Outreach, said:

"Like many people, I continue to study this matter. However, I can say with certainty that if Satoshi Nakamoto is Nicolas van Saberhagen, Monero is the greatest work of Satoshi Nakamoto."

But it is also possible that this is entirely coincidental. The wording of some academic software is configurable, and there may be no real connection between the two authors. Perhaps Nicolas van Saberhagen is actually a talented, creative, humble technologist who admires Satoshi Nakamoto and wants to remain anonymous.

Is Satoshi Nakamoto the creator of Monero? What do you think?
