What are the highlights of GBRC-721 compared to BRC721?

What makes GBRC-721 stand out from BRC721?

GBRC-721 means higher efficiency, which translates to lower potential costs for creators and more effective use of Bitcoin network resources, in line with the core principles of blockchain.

Recently, there have been some strong objections to BRC721 because not all data is stored on the blockchain. Currently, there are some alternative solutions, among which GBRC721 is notable for being 100% on-chain.

As an extension of the BRC721 standard, GBRC721 is noteworthy for its increased efficiency in block space utilization. The unique “deploy” operation stores collection characteristics on the chain only once, and subsequent “mint” operations reference these characteristics.

This increased efficiency means lower potential costs for creators and more effective use of Bitcoin network resources, in line with the core principles of blockchain. The GBRC721 standard also promotes enhanced decentralization. It does not rely on external indexers, and thus has higher scalability and cost-effectiveness than its predecessor.

One innovative feature of GBRC721 is image generation verification, allowing creators to include SHA256 outputs of generated images on-chain. This adds an extra layer of trust, as anyone can recreate and verify the image using on-chain data only.

The standard also significantly improves user interaction. With GBRC721, the actual image generated by the mint inscription can be displayed, replacing textual data and ultimately enhancing the end-user experience.

Relative to the minting of BRC721, GBRC721 introduces a more streamlined process for creating and minting irreplaceable Ordinals collections on the Bitcoin blockchain. This may simplify the process for creators.

An important shift offered by GBRC721 is its 100% on-chain data storage capability, which is different from the IPFS-dependent BRC721. This ensures overall data security and persistence on the blockchain without relying on external systems.

GBRC721 introduces an interesting evolution of the NFT standard on the Bitcoin network. It provides creators with an enhanced, more scalable, efficient, and potentially more cost-effective way, while providing users with greater trust.

Overall, BRC721 is currently in a leading position in terms of collection protocols, and IPFS goes against the spirit of Ordinals because one of its main benefits and challenges is that data is 100% stored on-chain, which may have a negative impact on their future prices if this is not the case.
