Overview of selected projects for Outlier Ventures' Zero Knowledge Base Camp Phase 2Author: LianGuaicryptonaitive
On September 26, 2023, Outlier Ventures announced the list of selected projects for the second phase of Zero Knowledge Base Camp: SurferMonkey, ZKON, zkHub, Absinthe Labs, Biosnarks.
It is reported that Outlier Ventures’ Zero Knowledge Base Camp accelerator consists of five startups in each phase, with the goal of using zero knowledge proofs to promote privacy and scalability.
Zero Knowledge Base Camp is accelerated by Outlier Ventures in collaboration with venture partners ScalingX, Old Fashion Research, and ecosystem partner Mina Foundation for the most promising ZK startups.

Below is a brief introduction of the selected projects for the second phase of Outlier Ventures Zero Knowledge Base Camp:
SurferMonkey
SurferMonkey is a plug-and-play tool that achieves blockchain privacy and compliance through zero knowledge proofs. SurferMonkey envisions a future where privacy and compliance coexist seamlessly in the blockchain ecosystem, setting global standards for secure and private transactions. Its mission is to enhance the capabilities of developers, businesses, and individuals by providing cutting-edge, untraceable decentralized privacy infrastructure, thereby promoting regulatory compliance and protecting user privacy in every transaction.
SurferMonkey is built with interoperability. It is the next evolution of DarkWeb3.0, enabling seamless and anonymous interaction across blockchains. From Polygon to Arbitrum, you can initiate operations without revealing your origin or destination. It offers true anonymous interoperability, supported by fast 2-second ZKP generation, complete obfuscation of blockchain paths, and easy dApp integration without backend changes.
SurferMonkey’s 4 technologies: Universal zkMixer (an agnostic ZKP technology that works with multiple chains), Decentralized Anonymous Compliance Technology (DACT-v2), Universal Plugins (dApps integrated with SurferMonkey, deployed on all supported blockchains), frontend integration (SurferMonkey infrastructure allows easy integration through the frontend).
ZKON
ZKON (Zero Knowledge Oracle Network) is a trustless oracle network. Operating as a decentralized network for secure oracles, ZKON facilitates seamless integration with third-party applications. Leveraging a zero-trust architecture, it enables account connectivity and data aggregation without storing users’ complete authentication methods in a single point of failure.
ZKON can connect and authenticate web3 wallets and web2 accounts without retaining any authentication secrets.
zkHub
zkHub is a fast and privacy-preserving zero-knowledge proof generator using multiparty computation (MPC). It utilizes cutting-edge MPC technology to distribute zero-knowledge proof generation across our computation network. Proof generation is a slow and computationally expensive task. zkHub seamlessly combines MPC and zk-proofs to generate proofs at lightning speed. It offers an amazing 36x improvement compared to current proof times, allowing developers to build larger circuits than ever before.
Absinthe Labs
Absinthe Labs creates smart contracts resistant to witch attacks using zero knowledge proofs. Robot-protected Web3 native token faucets have finally become a reality. Accessibility to developer resources is improved without the need for identity verification.
Biosnarks
Biosnarks is a biotech protocol that uses zkSNARK to facilitate data exchange and trust without revealing process or IP-sensitive information. Biosnarks uses MINA’s Kimchi Proof System for recursive proofs.
Drug and biotech development is an expensive and slow process. The development of a single therapy can take up to 10 years and cost between 300 million to 2.2 billion dollars. The main culprits are poor reproducibility of basic research and isolation of data and results. BioSNARKS allows participants to interact with verified data, IP, protocols, and goals without leaking sensitive information, opening up new possibilities for accelerated and more democratized drug and biotech development.
Think of Biosnarks as a stack that can protect privacy of biological data and drug markets even in a collaborative environment, enabling the generation and optimization of potential customers.
