What is Polyhedra, the cross-chain project that everyone is talking about recently? This article explains in detail the differences between it and L0.

Learn about the latest buzz in cross-chain projects with Polyhedra. This article will detail the differences between it and L0.

Recently, the cross-chain projects that everyone is crazy about interacting with are L0 and Polyhedra. Your Airdrop, a cryptocurrency KOL, wrote an article analyzing the differences between the two and the specific mechanism principle of Polyhedra.

L0 achieves its vision of full-chain interoperability by deploying super light nodes on two chains to exchange information with each other. Polyhedra, on the other hand, uses the most popular zero-knowledge proof technology (zkp) in web3 to complete information transmission. This project uses two advanced ZKP protocols – deVirgo and BlockingraPlonk to achieve ZK interoperability and scalability throughout the entire process, ensuring security and privacy.

Using deVirgo, zkBridge can be 100 times faster than the single-threaded Virgo prover, even though Virgo is already one of the most efficient ZKP protocols. BlockingraPlonk has extremely concise distributed communication between nodes, aiming to provide an efficient, secure, and scalable solution. It uses a high-level ZKP protocol called Plonk and achieves high parallelism by decomposing proofs into multiple parts, significantly improving proof generation speed.

These days, SEI is being attacked all over the internet due to issues with facial recognition technology, mainly because it cannot guarantee personal privacy. If SEI can use Polyhedra’s zk technology to ensure that personal information will not be leaked, it is believed that the attacks it receives will be greatly reduced. For Polyhedra, they have a grand vision – to migrate the web2 population on a large scale to web3 through the privacy identity transmission advantages of zkp technology.

Finally, we can make a comparison. The main application scenarios for L0 are: cross-chain decentralized transactions, cross-chain yield aggregators, and cross-chain lending, which provide liquidity to the entire chain. Polyhedra, on the other hand, is a protocol that is very different from traditional cross-chain bridges. In addition to meeting the traditional asset cross-chain needs, its main application scenarios are: information transmission, identity transmission, NFT transmission based on zkp. It should be noted that all of the above is based on the theoretical foundation of the project party. It is unknown whether the effects can be achieved in practice, and whether security can be guaranteed is even unknown to the project party.
