Reflections on the .sats domain: Current development status and value analysis

Reflections on .sats domain: Development status and value.

Web3 researcher Seva.sats has outlined the development status and registration process of .sats domain names, and compared them with ENS and .btc. Seva.sats stated that although .sats domain names are still in the early stages of development, their potential return on investment outweighs the risks.

As of now, there are already 170,000 registered .sat domain names with over 40,000 holders. Currently, .sats domains have been given initial empowerment, and soon users will be able to directly send .sats domains using Ordswap. UniSat’s Chief Operating Officer, Sonic.sats, also stated that they will soon launch a .sats domain market.

Unlike ENS, .sats domain names are completely free and have no expiration date. Compared to .btc, .sats represents data directly engraved on the Bitcoin L1 blockchain, which is immutable and will exist forever. Of course, .sats domains are still in the early stages, so there will be some degree of risk, but I believe that the potential return on investment outweighs the risk.
