Worldcoin raised $115 million in C round financing led by Blockchain Capital.

According to a report from Bloomberg, Tools for Humanity, the company behind the cryptocurrency project Worldcoin co-founded by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, announced the completion of a $115 million Series C financing round, led by Blockchain Capital, with participation from Andreessen Horowitz’s cryptocurrency team, Bain Capital Crypto, and Distributed Global. The funds will be used for product expansion and hiring new employees to strengthen the company’s team of 150 people. Alex Blania, co-founder and CEO of Tools for Humanity, declined to disclose the company’s valuation in an interview, but stated that this funding round represents the seriousness of their compliance enterprise. “When we started talking about it three years ago, people really joked about us, like we had read too much science fiction. Now things have changed,” he said.
