Lens Protocol secures $15M in funding led by IDEO CoLab Ventures.

Lens Protocol has raised $15 million in funding, led by IDEO CoLab Ventures, with participation from General Catalyst, Varian, Blockchain Capital, Blockinglm Tree, A. Capital, Seed Club Ventures, Robot Ventures, Flamingo DAO, DAOJones, Punk DAO, DAO5, Global Coin Research, and angel investors including Hayden Adams, CEO of Uniswap, Alex Atallah, co-founder of OpenSea, entrepreneur Balaji Srinivasan, Sébastien Borget, co-founder of Sandbox, Emily Yang (plpleasr), Denis Nazario (Mirror.xyz), and Sandeep Nailwal, co-founder of Polygon. The funds will be used to provide resources for the continued development of the Lens ecosystem.

Lens Protocol was launched in May 2022 and is currently in the testing phase. The protocol retains ownership of users’ digital identities, activities, and relationships. Using an open tech stack, builders can create social front-ends or integrate Lens social features into existing Web3 applications.

Now more than ever, there is a need for an open and interoperable decentralized social layer to create a more creative, diverse, and humane internet. We are excited about the new possibilities expressed by these underlying technologies and are pleased to support the Lens team on this journey.
