Ordinals protocol updated to version 0.6.2. Now supports recursive inscriptions and introduces randomness.

Developer raph has released Ordinals version 0.6.2, which supports recursive inscriptions. This small but powerful change not only brings composability but also adds randomness to inscriptions.

By accessing the “/content/” endpoint, you can now load the content of other inscriptions. Here are some examples that have used it (no affiliation or promotion, just ones I happened to come across): https://ordinals.com/inscription/afd54187a8d5c534711c5c30568f878470b7be696002c7ac6128667390ad1743i0

Using “/blockhash” or “/blockhash/”, you can obtain the current, past or future hash value (source of randomness) of a block. Finally, you can obtain the Unix timestamp of the latest block with “/blocktime”. If you encounter issues viewing inscriptions, you may need to clear your local browser cache.

Recursive inscriptions have once again updated the randomness on the chain, similar to minting NFTs randomly on the Ethereum chain. As recursive inscriptions continue to be updated and iterated, they are filled with endless possibilities. Is it possible to have tokens that also implement recursion, known as recursive coins? What would happen if BRC20 tokens were combined with recursion?
